They all exist so that we have a constant understanding of the population situations that countries are in. It also helps Governments, Health facilities and Statistics holders like Statistics Canada.

They can also show us which countries are in need of supplies or just need help in general.

Birth rate: The amount of people being born or brought into a country.

Life expectancy: The expected lifetime of the average person in a country.

Dependency load: The comparison of people who are dependant to the people who are still working.

Why do we care?

We should care because this will eventually affect ALL of us at one point or another in the future, not only that but it is something that we should also care about now. Due to the amount of older people we are seeing a decline in the working population and seeing more dependent people throughout the world, that is why we should care.
