Material: Petri dishes, cotton swabs, gloves, agar, various household disinfectants (hand sanitizer, bleach, iodine, hydrogen peroxide, etc.)

Process: Prepare the agar solution (1.2g agar for every 60ml water). Boil the solution for longer than two minutes to ensure it is sterile. Pour into sterilized Petri dishes and immediately cover them. Allow the mixture to cool/harden. Take a cotton swab and swipe along any desired surface. Evenly distribute across the surface of the agar solution. Use a cotton swab to apply a small drop of desired disinfectant onto surface (section the surface before hand to ensure that there is one control group among the disinfectants). Cover and label the sections with a permanent marker. Allow to develop in a dark room with temps from 20-37 degrees Celsius for 4-6 days. After the bacteria has developed, observe and make notes on how effective each disinfectant is.
