Fahrenheit 451 is a book written based off a dystopian society. The main character is named Guy Montag, a fireman who sets things on fire instead of putting the fire out. In this book the goal is to get rid of all the books. Books are seen as dangerous objects rather than objects that help us know and learn. One of the most important quotes I found from this book is said by Clarisee, a short term character with a big impact. The quote "Are you happy?" said to Montag sparks a turning point within the book. Montag at first has a heedless but prideful personality. He finds pride in his work but doesn't care about the impact it causes others. The question "are you happy?" begins to change the way Montag thinks and causes him to reflect more deeply about his life. After this Montag starts to take books from peoples home and studies them. When Montags boss, Captain Beatty finds out that Montags has books, it causes a huge conflict. Montag faces many challenges and fleeds the city running away from death. The city ends up being bombed in war, and Montag is found like a new person.

Theme: Dissatisfaction.

Explanation: After Clarisse asks Montag the question "Are you happy?" we find Montag becoming more and more dissatisfied with his life. First with his wife, Mildred. He realizes that maybe they don't even love each other and their marriage is fruitless. Then with his job. He at first takes pride in burning books but soon realizes how this job is not good for him at all and he starts taking the books for himself. We continually see Montag slowly start to find everything he doesn't like in his life, and start changing it.

Quote: "We need not to be let alone. We need to be really bothered once in a while."

Animal Farm is a book about animals trying to overcome humans in taking over a farm. This turns into some animals becoming more powerful than others and raises lots of conflict within the characters. The way the animals set up the farm is seen as a dictatorship. We can connect the theme of dissatisfaction from Fahrenheit 451 to Animal Farm. "It was noticed that the pigs were never seen in the same way as the other animals, and they did not do any of the hard work." The animals are dissatisfied with the fact they are putting in all this work for the pigs while they just sit around and boss the other animals.

The 2018 version of the move Fahreinheit 451 was directed by Ramin Bahrani. Michael B Jordan plays Guy Montag and shows more of a younger character than portrayed in the books. The movie is more so focused on action and advanced technology rather than an internal conflict in the book.

Fahrenheit 451 and Animal Farm are two different books but have similarities between them. Fahrenheit 451 is a book about a dystopian society. In this book the people are controlled by government. Though the book follows the firemen instead of the government. The firemen are different from our society, they light things on fire instead of stopping the fire. Animal Farm is a book about animals trying to take over the farm from the humans, though once they do this there is much conflict within the animals and everything goes downhill. Both of these books are about control and power. In each book there is a character trying to gain control in some aspect. In Animal Farm, Napoleon, the pig is seen as a dictator. He wants the complete control and obedience over the animals. In Fahrenheit 451, Captain Beatty wants to take control and burn all the books and the houses of those who own it. Both have violent control aspects over the characters.
