Today, I learnt that as woman interested in STEM, I must learn to speak up for myself. In using my voice, I can advocate for people in predominantly male-dominated fields, where gender seems to matter too much.

This session has made me think about how impactful KWK is in creating a network of women in the CS field. It makes me excited for the future and hopefully seeing more women in coding spaces.

I want to remember the advice that when people aren't hearing you, you have to stand up for yourself. You can't just go through life by keeping to yourself.

As minorities in tech, we have to stick up for ourselves whenever we face inequality in our workplace and educational settings. We are the stepping stone to a positive future we want to continue cultivating.

I really want to remember that there is nothing wrong with voicing for yourself, especially as an introvert myself. I am looking forward to keeping in touch with the scholars in college and beyond (having a tech buddy in the journey)!

I am definitely going to advocate and try to convince girls in my school and community to step out and not be afraid to enter the field of CS after my experience at KWK

I plan on using my Kwk network to try to keep attending this camp for following years. And to ask for help and recs in the future when I have questions about this field.

The session encouraged me to pursue future positions in tech, stem and cs. Even if people in the industry aren’t very encouraging, it’s okay to try even if you don’t know at first. That what they isn’t truth and only what I think should matter to me
