<title>One issue - at the point of joining the Uni lots of students didn&#39;t declare their EDI status - important that UKRI join up with HEIs and their own challenges/realities. Including the Grad School. Important to share good practice. </title>

<title>Emphasis on data is something to be wary of at the same time as recognising certain value. EDI is highly underreported in terms of composition of both students and academics. So there is opportunity - equally a sense it&#39;s &#39;being made up as it goes along&#39; </title>

<title>Data presents risks of misrepresentation. Statistics are slippery. Legitimate fear of institutions using data for its self promotion / &#39;marketing opportunity&#39; value - UKRI and HEIs being able to show certain stats. Is this a mechanism to improve EDI - or to serve the data needs of UKRI - a very data driven organisation by nature</title>

<title>Desire for RKEO to support with embedding EDI into research bids. From a data perspective - there will be some research work, teams, projects, methodologies that deliver &#39;easy&#39; data. And some with very valid &#39;data&#39; that is not measurable and doesn&#39;t show up in reporting. Qualitative v. Quantitative data - qualitative is undervalued perhaps in the EDI / representation conversation. How do we understand value? How do we (and UKRI) create new mechanisms to address this - so certain partners, ideas, methods, can be captured as valuable.</title>
