The NAIG games are basketball games and sporting events for aboriginal and especially first nation communities and teens. There are many kids who get the opportunity to go to these games and show their talent off. There was a young man named Kobe McKnight. He was a basketball player that actually may have a career in the sport. He was very happy that he has the opportunity to play, but he says it feels weird when everyone he plays with and against is aboriginal and everyone is from the same background and ethnicity. It's good that everyone can play but he says they might rather play with everyone else.

I believe it is a great idea of having indigenous games. And I feel privileged and proud that these games take place in my city (Toronto). I think it is a great idea of having games for specific ethnicity so that they can fairly showcase their talents while they might not have had as much leeway or equal accessibility to resources other cultures or ethnicities might have had. So I do think that Kobe is right and that there should be these games but also try and integrate cultures and combine games from different ethnicities and allow the first nation teens to showcase their talents while still being able to see other cultures and being able to play and work and collaborate with different people.

And so, I think that even though there are some people who love playing in these games there should be more initiative to integrate communities and have aboriginal kids play with white kids and asian kids and every child who is interested in sports. It allows them to learn how to act around different cultures and allows them to become culturally relative.
