Do you consider yourself to be a high or low context communicator?

I would consider myself a little bit of both, low context communicator and also high context communicator. I think that it depends on the situation and the people around me. As an example, when I'm with my family or my close friends I'm more direct as a low context communicator, I use more words than my body language and I tend to talk a lot about whatever pops into my mind. However, with new people I'm more shy and it makes me talk less, I prefer to stand aside and observe them, to understand them through their body language. But one thing that I know for sure is that when I have any issue or conflict I am a high context communicator because when something bothers me I don't think too much, I tend to be very direct with what I want and I don't usually explain myself.

How will you need information literacy skills in the specific industry in which you will work after graduation? Give specific examples ( e.g. as a teacher, a chef, a business manager etc.) of the types of lifelong learning and research you will need to participate in as a successful employee in your specific field ( the program you are studying at Humber College)

I am going to open a nail salon after I graduate. before I open the salon I will have to do a deep research about the place I will open my salon and everything around it. The information literacy will help me find the best services and information I will need to success with my business. It'll help me with marketing researches (where should I build my salon, who are my competitors, who are my target audience in this specific place). It could also help with finding where exactly should I buy my machines and my products, what machines are the best for my salon and what's the average price in the area. I'll have the exact steps to do the best research for my company before I start it.

Among the five essential values related to academic integrity, which one/ones do you feel is important to you and why? Do you think academic integrity should be practiced in the workplace as well as in our academic life? Give one example to show how academic integrity plays a crucial role in the workplace.

I feel like all the values are very important, they all are kind of related to each other but if I had to pick one, I would pick honesty. For me honesty is important also for our regular life but if we talk about academic integrity honesty should be the first value that people are following. Without being honest with the people around us and with ourselves we will do anything we can think about (such as cheating on a test, copying complete tasks, etc) Just for our own good but if we will be honest with each other we will think twice before doing anything that is not fairfull.

I do think that academic integrity should be practiced in the workplace too because integrity is also important when we work with other people and not only when we have assignments or tests to do. As an example, let's say I work I in a shake bar place with my friend, and one day I see her taking some money from the cash desk and putting it in her pocket. I will have to be fair and tell the manager what happened. As an employee, I have a responsibility for the place I'm working at.

There are no points I were not aware of before, I think that those points are known to everyone but for some reason I have never thought that it is actually written down.

As a Humber college student my responsibility is to graduate in fairness. This means, no cheating or copying and always be responsible for my studies. At the end of the day I am the one who decided to study and paid for it so I should success it by myself without trying to get the highest grades by cheating. Grades will open doors for me but only my knowledge will get me into them.
