Appeasement 1938

To avoid war France gave into Hitler's demands for the Sudetenland. This led to Hitler taking advantage of France and Britain. Hitler began to be more aggressive in his wants which led to the war.

Great Depression 1929

The Great Depression started in the U.S. because of a stock market crash. This eventually spread around the world. This lead to totalitarian types of government which acted aggressive with the countries around them

Germany rebuilding its military

Part of the agreement for the Treaty of Versailles was that Germany was to demilitarize and not rebuild its army. Hitler began to expand his army in 1993 when the Nazi party came into power. It started with street gangs and grew into private armies like the SA and SS and red army. Other countries started to take notice and get suspecious and started to build their armies as well

Rhineland 1936

After rebuilding their armies Hitler violated the Treaty of Versailles once again by moving the military forces into the Rhineland. However no one did anything to stop him.

Munich Pact 1938

a meeting with Germany, Great Britain, France, and Italy on the matter of the Sudetenland which is part of Czechoslovakia. However Czechoslovakia was not invited to to this meeting. France and Britain agreed to give Hitler Sudetenland to avoid war in Europe.

The Holocaust was lead by Nazi Germany. The Holocaust was the systematic capturing and murder of over six million Jews. The idea was to find the ideal race.

Master Race

Hiroshima and Nagasaki 1945

Starting in August of 1945 The U.S. dropped the first atomic bombs on the Japanese. The first bomb in Hiroshima and immediately wiped out 90% of the population. The second one dropped in Nagasaki, killing an estimated 40,000 people. These bombings triggered the unconditional surrender announced by Japan’s Emperor Hirohito.
