But, if you look at the reality when are we ever going to use Mandarin in the future? I do enjoy the lessons but I think it would be good if we learn't a variety of cultures. Because then we have knowledge about different peoples cultures. We could have a mufti day dedicated to different cultures and have people showcase something that's important to their culture. And celebrate different language weeks. We celebrate Maori language week, Sign-language week, Sea week why not Samoan language week or Tongan language week? It's understandable that we might need to cut some cultures but it's not fair that all of them get cut off. I mean as a Samoan my language is the third most commonly spoken language here in New Zealand.

Physically and politically ignored. Catches the combination of two cultures in a time of war. European Settlers and Indigenous Moari. Missionaries were not happy with what was going on in Maori Customs. James Buzby Official British Resident. (War of war without guns)United tribes picked a flag and chose independence. French colonisation was road blocked by English. - Though this was not 100% backed by the English GovtWakefield came up with an idea in jail. Perfect place to make the NZ company. This bought land and sold for a profit. Brought British over to make a working class. British Government really had a choice to make William Hobson ordered to make a treaty to negotiate with Maori - to sign over sovereigntyHobson didn’t finish it by the time he got to NZTranslation by Henry Williams,- this was very rushed.

500 Maori chiefs came to Waitangi.There were a lot of warnings for this by Maori however the agreement was that signing was in best interests. We are now one people- Copies went around NZ all but one were Maori language versions. There were huge differences between the English and Maori Versions. Maori believed in signing that they would be in charge of their own land and the spirit of NZ would remain with Maori and sovereignty of NZ (the shadow) was all they signed away, A year later complaints were made by Maori as the governor was now treating the land as his own and had complete authority over Aotearoa.
