Ocean Mechanical Energy is using the Oceans waves and tides. The bigger the wave, the more power you get. Wave power can be used in two different ways. One, the movement of the waves can be used in cranking a generator. Two, the pressure caused by a wave can force air down a turbine to make electricity.

Although ocean energy hasn't been used a lot yet, more and more people are deciding to give it a try. After all, it is much more reliable than wind and sun energy, and most of the Earth is covered in water. The European Commission Low Carbon Energy Observatory (LCEO) project is developing new resources to help the Earth. They are using sails, kites, fish swimming simulators, and other materials to harness energy.

Ocean Energy works differently depending on what power collector you use, but they all have one main similarity. Wave Movement. Ocean waves travel in swells, a circular movement, where they are bobbing up and down. As the waves come closer to shore, the waves "trip" over the ground, causing on part of the wave to hit before the other.
