Westlothiana AKA 'Lizzie' because of how lizard like its features are. Originally it was thought to be the oldest known reptile. It is unclear whether lizzie layed amniotic eggs and therefore cannot be concluded as an amniote or an amphibian. Either the oldest amniote or very closely related to the earliest amniotes.

Earliest Reptile - Hylonomus lyelli
Fully adapted to life on land the Hylonomus lived 315 million years ago.
Known to be the first reptiles after amphibians because they were fully adapted to land.
Characteristics:
20cm long, fed on millipeads, insects and land snails
"Its head was proportionally much smaller than the amphibians from which it was descended. However, the structure of the skull shows a significant advance over an amphibian skill as it allowed more space for the attachment of stronger jaw muscles."

Amphibians depend on water in their enviroment. "They spend at least part of their life cycle in water... most amphibians lay their eggs in water."
"Amphibians, though, have thin, delicate, skin that they can actually breathe through"
Reptiles do not depend on water in their enviroment. "Reptiles have scaly skin that allows them to survive in hot, dry climates"
