I am a monitor. I think I fluctuate roles, but sometimes I find it hard to allow certain students to work independently when I may not feel they have the critical thinking skills to complete the task. I feel like I have to hold their hand.

I am a monitor and an expert assigner. It is really complicated to shift away from this role because I have the false idea that I am the only one in the classroom who can teach, make correction and have the "acceptable" knowledge, but something kids showed me surprises.

It is difficult to shift away from manager because I feel there is a lot of pressure to make sure they are growing at the expected rate. I feel as though if I am not managing their expected tasks, independent work, and daily purpose for learning they will not make the expected growth. Therefore, I feel I am more so managing my reading block out of fear than engagement and love of reading and learning.
