In the two weeks we had to make a collection, I collected songs. My ideia for today's work was to do an illustration of a few on those songs, based on their lyrics and what they mean to me.
I love the ideia of representing feelings through art and I used different materials to express it, from watercolor to charcoal. While watercolor is more fluid, charcoal is better for textures and shadows. I didnt finish it today, its hard for me to do things in the same rhythm as the rest of the class because of my ADHD, but I made a lot of progress  and next time I will try other materials to see which one is better for this work. To represent the songs I wrote part of the lyrics, as the illustrations are not ready yet. Later, we took them downstairs and display them in a different way. The ceiling has black circles all over it, so I put the lyrics on them. It was interesting and took me out of my confort zone, making me work hard on something that I was very proud of in the end. I took five of the songs I had on my collection and made illustrations, writing the name of the songs and a little of the lyrics. First we made our names out of objects we could find in the studio and presented the typography terms we reaserched during the weekend. During lunch, we took pictures of things that looked like letters (we did that with all the letters on the alphabet) and presented the pictures to the class in the afternoon. Then we were given the letter we will work with for the week and started doing modifications and drawing it in different styles. I was frustrated because I sent it to print in A3 as it was on the exercise, but someone who printed in A4  took mine, so I was stuck working with A4 sheets and lost a lot of time. In the second part, we started to develop the project for our 3D letter, which we will begin tomorrow. I had the idea of making one side with a spiral and the other one with the form of an Eye, because of the shape of my design on the silkscreen printing yesterday.
After the class, me and some friends kept working on our fonts, later we played videogames and had a pizza in the foundation classroom. I tried it for a very long time to scan and print mine, but every time I solved a problem, another one came up. That was really frustrating, so in the presentation I just showed the original sheets. The presentation of the work was in the afternoon, and I was really happy with the crits I received. The only negative one was more about the presentation itself than about the work.
