1. The people of Omelas cannot live happily when they know a child is constantly suffering for their happiness.
2. The ones who walk away from the city don't know what lays beyond its boarders, but they know they can't stay anymore.
3. Everyone has to see the child at least once so that they know what their happiness costs.

2 questions I still have.
1. Why does the child have to suffer?  Is this a curse?  Spell?  How did this arrangement start?
2. Do the people who leave the city find another place?  Are they happier?  Can they get far enough away to forget the child?

1 thing I would like to say if we had another seminar about this story.
