I will therefore strive to have taqwa, meaning fearing Allah in my actions (الظاهر) and my intentions (الباطن), constantly checking my niyyah and knowing that every act that comes out of me will affect everyone around me.

Our group name is the Muttaqun, the God-conscious ones.

Recent experience made me think that what if the way to constantly be aware of Allah's presence is to have a correct worldview/outlook on life i.e how we see everything around us? When we read all the signs correctly, wouldn't we always be aware of His presence?

Maybe this is what 5DT helps us to achieve with Allah's permission.

So one way I can try to embody this trait of God-consciousness is by seriously understanding 5DT and establishing it in my life inshaAllah

"As a mutafakkir educator in early childhood education, one way I embody this trait is by incorporating reflective activities in my classroom. For instance, when we explore, I encourage my students to observe the plants and animals around them and ask questions like, 'Who created these creatures?' or 'What role do these plants play in our world?' This approach helps them not only develop curiosity and critical thinking skills but also understand the interconnectedness of creation. I also encourage them to express gratitude for linking the experience to our spiritual values and understanding of Allah as the Creator."

Allah as the Creator

• Surah Al-Baqarah (2:164):
  "Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the alternation of the night and the day, and the [great] ships which sail through the sea with what benefits people, and what Allah has sent down from the heavens of rain, giving life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness and dispersing therein every kind of moving creature, and [His] directing of the winds and the clouds controlled between the heaven and the earth are signs for a people who use reason."

By sticking to even the smallest acts of goodness by staying persistant.

قُلْ إِنَّ صَلَاتِى وَنُسُكِى وَمَحْيَاىَ وَمَمَاتِى لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ١٦٢

Say, “Surely my prayer, my sacrifice, my life, and my death are all for Allah—Lord of all worlds

Directing all the khair back to Allah and verbally acknowledging that tawfeeq of khair comes from Allah Alone.

I would encourage reflective thinking and being contemplative.

I would also get them to link the knowledge to the bigger picture and to the Creator

I would encourage critical thinking and get them to ask questions and provide a safe space for them to ask.

“You are the best nation produced for mankind. You enjoin what is right, forbid what is wrong, and believe in Allah.”(Ali ’Imran 3:110)

Based on this verse, my actions as a teacher are:

1. Call Others to Goodness (Ta’muruna bil Ma’ruf)

• Encourage students toward noble character, Islamic values, and righteous deeds.

• Be a role model by showing good actions, not merely preaching.

2. Forbid Wrongdoing (Tanhawna ’anil Munkar)

• Correct students gently and wisely when they make mistakes or misbehave.

• Build a classroom culture that rejects sin, dishonesty, and wrongdoing.

3. Strengthen Students’ Faith (Tu’minuna Billah)

• Integrate teachings of Tawhid, belief in Allah, and reliance upon Him into lessons.

• Plant love and fear of Allah deep in the students’ hearts.

4. Be a Model of the Best Ummah

• Be a living example in speech, manners, and character.

• Treat teaching as an act of worship, with sincerity and excellence.

5. Teach with an Ummah Vision

• See students not just as individuals, but as future carriers of Islam’s message.

• Train them to uphold amar ma’ruf nahi munkar (commanding right, forbidding wrong) in society.

As a teacher based on Ali ’Imran 110, my mission is to nurture students into believers, people of good character, and agents of positive change in the ummah.
