Also I would recommend this book to historical readers. The book has information about the inside life of Germany durning the Holocaust and how the Nazis were so cruel to the jews. A signpost from this book is when the Nazis were roaming the streets, destroying everything the jews owned. At one point they went to Karls house, so Karl and his father fought the Nazis and tried to defend there house. I was surprised that Karl actually tried to fight the Nazis and didn't hide which is why this is a  Contrasts and contradictions signpost.

I think this book connects to how ISIS is killing and being cruel to Christians and non-Muslims around the world. An examples of him being shoot down is when he first entered The Berlin Boxing Club and everyone was making fun of him but that didn't stop him. Another example is when he left The Berlin Boxing Club because he thought they didn't want him anymore because he was jewish but even after he left he still trained everyday, Showing that he didn't give up. I drew a picture of boxing gloves because it represents Karl's career.
