Using visual representations is very helpful so that the students can see the math problems and have them time to work on it. It allows students to show their work, so the teachers can see their thoughts and help problem solve. It allows students to use their own voice when solving the problem and confidence skills when they share.

Many times we get our opportunities for nudging and eliciting during share out or breakout rooms. But, ideally, we should be doing this while they are solving.
