J. Palacio. The main character August Pullman was born with facial differences and was judged/stared and laughed at when he entered the 5th grade. At first i thought it was slow and predictable. It was those things, but I grew to like them due to the story behind them. I loved the character development, and how Flint talked about his life through his comic book. I think this is a great book that resonates with anyone who has ever felt like they were an outsider or that they didn't fit in with the crowd.
