On 23rd of november Martina Ferraguti, italian researcher working at Amsterdam University, had a virtual meeting with the 3F of I.C. Puecher. Really a nice experience: here there are some reflections from the students.

The class 3 C from IC "Puecher" of Erba (Italy) partecipated, the 26th November, to the Science is Wonderful project (sponsored by European Commission). We met Michele Botti, a Math researcher of Politecnico in Milan. He applies math to geological issues and explained us in a fascinating way what is a math model and how we can apply it to real problems.

On the topic of fake news, for example, I remember this case where it was said that the vector of the Nile virus (West Nile virus) is the Aedes japonicus mosquito, a completely wrong news since the main vector is a completely different "genus" of mosquito, the Culex, in which several species have been demonstrated as competent vectors (for example the most widespread is Culex pipiens, or Culex modestus).
