For instance, Tunisia celebrates this holiday on July 25 to honor the day, when the National Assembly abolished monarchy in the country and proclaimed it to be the Republic of Tunisia.
For about a century Tunisia was administered by France. In 1881 the ruler of Tunisia, Muhammad III as-Sadiq, signed a treaty with France. Under the treaty Tunisia officially became the territory protected by France. The country achieved its independence from France only after World War II.

May 28 is the Day of the First Republic of Armenia
Every year on May 28, Armenia's residents celebrate the First Republic Day. The second name of this holiday is the Day of Restoration of Sovereignty. 1918 On May 28, the independence of Armenia, under the yoke of more than six centuries, was restored.
1639 The Persian part of Armenia divided between the Ottoman Empire and Persia in 1813-1827, and in 1828, And in 1878, Russia joined itself to part of Turkey. In the 1870s, the Armenian national movement began, whose leaders tried to benefit from the competition of the powerful states of the then Ottoman Empire.
Soon after the start of World War I, the Turks passed the "Armenian Cause" solution by forcefully deporting all Armenians from Asia Minor. The Armenian soldiers serving in the Turkish army were demobilized and killed, women, children and the elderly were expelled to Syria's desert. The figures of the dead are very different - from 600,000 to 1 million.
Thanks to the help of Turks and Kurds, some Armenians succeeded to survive, many of them fled to Russian Armenia or other Middle Eastern countries. Russian Armenia declared an independent republic in 1918 May 28.

Despite the massive influx of refugees and conflicts with neighboring Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey, the Republic was courageously fighting for its existence. 1920 A part of the Red Army entered Armenia, on December 2 of the same year it was proclaimed Soviet Republic.

Independence Day of Georgia is May 26. 
On this day, Georgia was liberated from the Russian Empire in 1918, but the young state has only 2 years and 9 months. Soon afterwards, Russia has again okupation After that Georgia was within 70 years of the Soviet Union as one of the sovereign republics. On April 9, 1991, Georgia has regained its independence. That is why we celebrate Independence Day twice on April 9 and May 26 in my country. April 9 is associated with tears and great national pain because on April 9, 1989, the Soviet authorities dispersed a peaceful demonstration in Tbilisi. The protesters were severely beaten by protesters, many of whom were young ladies, and some of them were schoolchildren. The protesters demanded that the Soviet government (Whose successor is Russia's current state) to stop supporting the provocateurs and separatists in Abkhazia, one of the most spectacular regions in Georgia. Because of this, many peaceful and protest rallies broke out. So April 9 is always associated with sadness. On this day, it is important to remember the victims of April 9 and the heroes who lost their lives during the 70-year war with the Soviet empire. And May 26 is the day of Independence in Georgia, with a very happy, smiling and hopeful future.
