I would find Forensic Psychology to be the most interesting because it challenges you to look at a legal point of view as well as a view for the well being of the patient. This field would also be interesting to work in because each case is different and so are the patients. You could have the exact same legal case but two different people with opposite mind sets and mental states, which challenges the Forensic Psychologist.

APPLIED PSYCHOLOGY
I find health psychology the most interesting because it is the study of psychological and behavioral processes in health, illness, and healthcare. It mainly focuses on how mental, emotional, and social factors affect a person's physical well-being. The goal of this psychology is to apply health education, information, prevention and control in ways that will alleviate patient's physical symptoms and improve their live. The bottom line is their are not only considering about the behavior of a person but including their health as well. More importantly I am one of the person who's interested in medicine field, and I am given the opportunity to study this specialization, I wouldn't hesitate to take this field.

The area I am most interested in learning is health psychology. External factors such as the environment have a significant impact on our overall wellness. However, health psychology provides unlying truth that focuses on how our emotions, feelings, and behavior can greatly influence health and illness. Also, it helps us understand how people handle illness, the reason why people don't follow medical advice, and develop strategies or effective ways to change poor health habits. I think the greatest rewards of practicing health psychology would be able to make a change in people's lives and foster their emotional and physical well being. This area is holistic and has real-world applications for long-term health, which I think is beneficial for me in the future.

I am a firm believer that simply isolation and/or a lack of community support for adults is at the core of homelessness; and the many paths it takes for someone to get there. As someone who’s worked with Nanaimo's services throughout my life, I find that adults unfortunately have it comparatively more limited when it comes to finding the right kind of support. Not to get off track, however, I am very passionate about this area of psychology and I would love to put that into action someday.

I like the sound of sports psychology being an athlete myself and learning from one I feel the job would be fitting as a second choice. If I could pursue any type of psychology I would pick neuropsychology because to me the brain is so complex and so interesting. We learn new things because we are nowhere near the end of knowing how it works and why it does things. Neuropsychologists study the behaviours with the connection of the brain. They are always working with new studies and to me, that shows that maybe I could find something undiscovered and maybe even find a way to cure something psychological.

Wow.

My jack of all trade wants to do it all. But realistically I think I am more into community psychology. I am coming from an addictive family. The abuse of substance that I have seen growing up made chose a sober path. I still drink a beer, maybe once or twice a year. The trauma that is link to substance abuse is what need to be treated. But it’s often hard to get these people to open and share to be able to be healed. However, this is from the list that is shown. I am certain if I had the full list, it would be harder to make a choice. I had to read other people padlet… to see a certain consensus. Forensic and Health psychology are popular. I can understand why.

I do actually want to go into psychology, and I am going to university to obtain a psych degree. I've always been interested in criminal behavior as well as general psychology. Forensic psychology can be used to take note of behaviors in young people that are common in criminals and to take action to stop them from doing bad things.

A pretty large portion of my family, or extended family, is currently dealing with or was once dealing with some of these problems described in the outline, (specifically substance abuse.) I’ve seen the effects of substance abuse and it is for that reason I’ve always stayed far away from doing them myself. And as well, I’ve lived in Nanaimo my entire life and am now seeing the large increase of substance abuse, poverty, etc, first hand, I think if there were more people like community psychologists to help, then this rapid increase may be able to be turned around somehow.

Forensic psychology looks fun, I'd love trying to analyze the minds of criminals. I have always been fascinated by true crime, and horror novels. The way they think is often so complex, and to be able to understand why they do the things they do seems like fun.

Though I find myself being drawn to the basic subfields of psychology rather than the applied ones, I think that forensic psychology sticks out to me more than the other ones. I’ve always had an interest in both law and the criminal mind, as well as the justice system as a whole. Though I feel that it is unlikely that I will pursue a career in this field, I can’t deny the intrigue that lies within it. After a bit of additional research regarding the potential careers that stem from this field, I believe that crime analysts in particular seem fascinating. The thought of working to control, prevent, and predict crimes sounds particularly exciting and impressive. The thought of analyzing data in order to find common themes and trends in order to find the factors that influence crime rates also seems like something that I would be interested in. This is because I personally enjoy looking for similarities and patterns in order to predict the end result of other events. This interest likely stems from my interest in crime and mystery novels and comics. In those sorts of stories, I tend to especially like trying to get into the criminal’s, usually the antagonist, head in order to figure out the missing link; be it motives, methods, or the culprit if they have yet to be identified. Of course for the ones with unknown culprits I tend to figure it out with a “feeling” or “hunch” rather than any proper form of analysis which is slightly less satisfying but contributed to my interest in the criminal mind all the same. That being said, while I’m not particularly squeamish, there are likely limits to what I can handle analytically so I’m probably not suited to this field.

Beside the amount of education I would love to be in this field. Now I’ve chosen to apply to a community mental health worker program. All are very interesting in the end though.

I definitely think that Forensic psychology is the most interesting to me. Ever since I found the world of criminology, I've been fascinated with how a criminal's brain functions, more specifically ones of a murderer... I love reading stories about detectives and learning all about the psychology that goes through in doing the "Perfect Crime". The thought process that goes through both the criminal and the detective absolutely fascinates me, and learning about how unpredictable they can be. In the future, I definitely want to do something with criminals whether it be a Profiler, or a Detective, maybe even a psychologist, the thought of learning about the frantic and crazy mind of a criminal makes me 100% invested in the field of Forensic Psychology.

I have always been obsessed and curious about the way people think, feel or behave since I was young because I used to wish that I could read people's minds. I think that being able to understand social psychology can be useful for many reasons. Firstly, we can know about the personality of each individual through their behaviors and intention of people's decision. Therefore, we can handle the situation more effectively. Secondly, studying social psychology teaches me to feel more sympathetic for other people, and it will make my life become more interesting and fulfilling.

I never really knew that there were different types but after reading a little bit more I think health psychology and forensic psychology are the ones that's most up my alley. My reasoning for health psych is because their directed towards how thoughts and behaviours affect mental health/illnesses. This to me in the one that is most directed towards how the brain works towards people who have mental health issues and to me that is very interesting. The reason I also forensic would be interesting is because I think the legal side of psych is intriguing, the way the brain works to whom is a criminal. I have a lot of interesting in criminology as well and this seems like a mix of both.

It is undeniable that mental health issues are prominent and steadily increasing, especially among adolescents - but it’s not seemingly addressed like the urgent problem that it is. I’d like to know why this is happening, why teenagers are put under so much stress, and how this dilemma can be slowed. I’m fascinated by the complexity behind the human mind and the plethora of possible reasons behind an individual’s mental illness. I’m also very intrigued by forensic psychology because I also have an interest in law. Understanding and analyzing the mind of a criminal and understanding how humans have the capability to commit awful crimes is very interesting to me. How their brain is wired, what sort of triggers they have, and how they can allow themselves to violate some of the most obvious rules of civilization is an unendingly complex study that I’d like to learn more about.

As a very emotionally driven person I understand how feelings can greatly affect mental health and vise versa. I also think studying this genre of psychology could even benefit the person studying it. As complex social creatures we sometimes have trouble identifying what unhealthy behavors we keep repeating that cause strain on our mental health. I aslo recognize the importance of a distanced opinion that a psychologist can provide, as we are so close to our problems its hard to see them until someone else points them out.

I’d love to take part in helping people through community psychology because it focuses on the larger influencing factors that affect people’s daily lives (culture, society, politics, economics, etc.). I think that studying community psychology would be interesting because it gives someone the knowledge to approach social problems such as poverty. It links research with action and service to promote change.

I enjoy doing an assortment of sports and am interested in learning how to better yourselves through psychology in sports. Learning how to properly take care of your body as an athlete is a high priority, but something lots of athletes don't take seriously enough. Teaching and helping athletes to learn the psychology behind it and upping their game would be a really cool thing to do as a job. Community psychology is all about helping out your community and benefiting those around you, which is something I am extremely passionate about. It would be so interesting for me to be able to contribute in this way to others around me. Both jobs work well to understand the mind and body of decisions and learn the science behind an idea to show others how we can fix it, or better ourselves and others with applying psychology to it.

The idea of trying to understand the mind of a criminal is very interesting. Understanding what triggers such a thought to commit a crime, big or small. Considering facts like genetics, mental disorder, upbringing, turning points or moments of impact. I really enjoy true crime stories and trying to look deeper into the state that brought the crime. But I’m also interested in the social psychology field. It brings an underlying understanding to day to day interactions. Specializing interacts can bring a new experience of communicating with others, I believe this would be the perfect Field of psychology for anyone.

School is one of the hardest things many kids go through and I believe that if more people help find ways for it to be more enjoyable or teach in better ways for each student, than kids wouldn't be so stressed all the time. Possibly even help lower the amount of teens who drop out of school.

I would love to study psychology and learning how to help people improve their health would be pretty cool. I like the idea of learning about how the mind works and helping others to understand how their brain works as well so they can better themselves. I think that using education is one of the best ways to motivate people to take care of themselves. I think it would be really useful in day to day life to know about how we can improve our health by studying psychology so that we can also help ourselves as well as others.

My interests involve the well being of others and focusing on ways to help them. I am definitely interested in helping the younger community get through school with as little stress as possible. Finding tactics that could assist them in their daily lives is very fascinating to me. Clinical psychology is also an interest of mine as I want to help the people who are struggling severely. Life is an amazing journey and I want to help people understand that. Learning to find solutions to peoples problems seem very compelling to me. Studying psychology will not only benefit your self but it will supply help to the community we are surrounded by.

I, personally am really interested in health psychology/neuropsychology. The relationship between the brain and the behaviour fascinates me. How someone interrupts different aspects of learning and how society processes information really draws my attention. As a person who struggles with mental illnesses, I want to discover more about the way I think. I’m sure many people have hit their lows and highs, as for the people who are still in their lows I feel empathy towards them and desire to help them overcome some negative thoughts they may have. I’ve noticed most neuropsychologists work closely with neurologists and learn different brain functions on a daily basis. My strong suit is science so, I think that this career path is compatible and consistent with my personality. I strive to learn a lot in this class. I believe I am a very indecisive individual and I like to keep my options open, therefore I would love to learn about other topics as well.

I find health and social psychology very interesting. I think it would be a very exciting career to focus especially on positive psychology. I'm currently reading a book about it and I'm very intrigued. I also would love to help people and listen to people. I think it would be interesting and rewarding to help people create new healthy habits that would improve their lives. I have an interest in mental illness, I would love to know how it develops in the brain and what goes on inside the brain to cause it. I would want to help people affected by mental illnesses, and see what is effective to cure them. It would be very cool to contribute to research to help with mental health.

I personally think that social psychology would be the most interesting to work in because the study of how us humans behave in different situations and environments intrigues me. Understanding why people feel a certain way can make it easier to help them in these situations, so social psychology defiantly sounds more helpful and interesting to me.

I believe that I would find school psychology quite interesting. A lot of our development is done during the many hours we spend at school and everyone would benefit from some reform of how our schools operate. Not only that I believe more kids should have a positive attitude towards academia. I strongly believe we were raised on a fear based system. From a young age you are taught to be scared of the subjects that you are taking because it is grade dependent. Subjects like math and science are labeled as "too hard" for most so the kids going in to the classes are afraid to take it so that sets them up for failure and lots of kids opt out of courses that are considered challenging because they dont this that they can do that. Now that I am graduated I see lots of ways that my education could have been improved and it would be interesting to study that from a science based background like psychology. I also think it is interesting the way different students learn and I don’t think the current education system caters to kids who learn differently than how other kids do. Only few kids thrive on “factory learning” and it is outdated.

Personally I am most interested in forensic psychology. It’s my goal to one day be a psychologist and potentially even a forensic psychologist. The idea of why people do the things they do and what caused them to feel the need to do it is something that’s always fascinated me, when combined with law and criminology something else I find intriguing I feel an overwhelming sense of excitement. I’m interested in how our experiences as people affect the way our brain can process the world around us and in turn how we respond to it. I’m curious how the brain patterns people of who commit mass murders and inhumane torture are different from the brain patterns of someone who is for example an empath.

if i was to get into psychology, which is a possibility, i would either go into sports psychology or health psychology. i have been very into sports and active living for my whole live, and right now i play competitive volleyball. i think learning and professionalizing in what actually goes on behind an athletes mind and what they can do to improve would be very interesting. i have worked with sports psychologists many times, they tend to come in and talk to my team and give us so great advice. Also heath psychologists seems very fascinating, and just learning about the science behind why and how people feel and behave a certain way. also the way it effects your mental health and how these mental illness make you behave. Also i am very interested about the criminal mind and what goes on in their brains. i have always thought about why they commit these crimes and what makes them do these things?

From a very young age I have been intrigued by the different multitudes and fields within Pysch. I have always had a passion for sports, therefore I would pick sports psychology as my preference. I want to have a better understanding of the mental health issues people struggle with so that I know how to help support others and myself in tough times. Also, I want to go into a career as an artist for movies and animated shows, so by learning about psychology it could help me to portray these issues in a more sensitive manner.
