This was a more amusing assignment, as we actually wrote to real businesses and some of us even got replies. I personally think the best part of this was getting my own response (even if Nintendo sent a literal massive stack of paper)

Socratic Seminar

A Socratic Seminar is a forced debate about two topics, with two groups separated into partners. Each partner talks about a different topic and in the breaks in the rounds, consults with the other. The different topics we talked about included the "Journey of Byron" from The Watsons Go to Birmingham, the reasoning for Charles Dickens writing A Christmas Carol and later on there will be a Socratic Seminar about A Long Walk to Water. Several personal highlights were trying to talk and getting interrupted, actually being able to talk and the round ending. Socratic Seminars are really good practice for talking in front of a large audience, since when you talk, everyone's attention is on you.

Two Voice Poem

This was a more love-hate project, as we, firstly, had to create a full-on poem. Second, we had to dress "formally". Well, the description was "wear something you would wear for a job interview". Anyway, this assignment was really interesting to read and see everyone else's slides and I felt a mild comfort in wearing nice clothing.

I've read some really good books this year, but I think the most important and best thing I read was Stephen King's It. The story, and the pacing, and just everything about it amazes me. This might have been one of the longer ones to introduce me to Stephen King's work, but it was a really good one.
