My name is quite unique, for I have never encountered anyone with the same one, except for my nickname. On July 15, 2008, I was brought into existence. I am currently in the 17th chapter of my life, and I can never be thankful enough for being where I stand now. To be frank, when introducing myself, I dislike talking about my favorites and preferences, so it would be best if I shared what my personality really is. Let's begin with me being an introvert. When people first encounter me, I always hear words like "intimidating" or "mean" because that's how they perceive my aura by appearance. But as you get to know me or as we get closer, you'll often see me smile and laugh a lot. I enjoy making jokes and bringing happiness to others because it also brings me joy. Despite those bright sides I have, I am also often seen as a person who never tries to embrace her dark sides. These flaws and imperfections made me who I am today, and I am continually learning :) I think that basically sums up who I am as a person.

We're a family of 7 and I am the youngest girl and the 4th child. My parents have been married for 23 years. The first girl from the left is the second child, beside her is our eldest sister which is the first born, beside our eldest sister is my mother, and beside my mother is me, the youngest girl :). On the other hand, the first man sitting from the left is my eldest brother and the third child, beside him is my younger brother and the youngest among all of us, and the last man is our super dad. This family picture was taken before my older brother went to a mission, he still has 23 months left. We miss him.

This is Astro Philex Camri, we like to call him Astro or Astrophile. He's my first very own cat and pet! At first, he was just a stray cat who used to visit us a lot to ask for food until we finally kept him. My sister was actually the one who decided to keep him and when I saw there was a random cat in the cage outside our house, I suddenly had a gut feeling that he's meant for me. I've been wanting my own pet ever since, I always watch and admire my sisters who has their own cats and dogs which makes me wonder when will I have one of my own? So here he is! Not only did I become a fur-mom but I was also lucky for having a sweet and kind baby. He sleeps a lot and loves eating, his favorite part of the day is going outside just like the one in the picture, and he's very clingy :DD

We're still friends but we only connect through chat and calls because our schedules barely meet now that we're in different schools. Singing is one of my passion, I play guitar too and I hope in the future I can write my own songs and be an artist. If not, I hope I can be part of Musical Theatre. Or be a great poet, writing brings me into another dimension where I can express my thoughts into words.

Hi, I hope you’re reading this with lighter worries than I have now. I don’t know what age you are, but I hope you’re still friends with my current friends. Do our future endeavors still align? Or are you on your own path? Regardless of your situation, I know that you’re doing it with a heart of passion. We never do something we don’t like. I hope that in your time, I have accepted and I appreciate myself more. I hope you’re feeling better; if not, find a way to rest and feel okay. You are not a robot.

Have you finished the scripture? I hope you did, because it’s the only book that we have barely read. I can't read it now because of how hectic my schedule gets, so I hope you did when we had the chance to, so I can remember it forever. I hope you never lost your connection with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, because amidst all the bad things in the world, they’re the only Ones who can make everything a good thing. They love you. I hope you are still serving the Lord in any way you can.

Lastly, I hope you do not rush love. And I hope you've learned to love yourself first.

Infancy

My parents work during weekdays, so most of my time as an infant was spent with my uncle, who treated me like I could be easily torn once touched. He was a big part of my life. He was strict, but I knew it was because he cared for us so deeply. He left us when I was 15 and took care of our grandfather instead. I miss him more than words could express.

Toddler Years/Early Childhood

My mother said that the moment I learned how to speak, my thoughts were immediately expressed by my voice. Growing up, I really loved to play and dress up! I would play pretend and dress up as the characters. I prefer to remember myself as a happy toddler rather than a snobbish kid, they say I was.

Preschool Years

Here is a picture of me and my momma when I graduated from preschool :D

Preschool was like a field of flowers on a sunny afternoon. I was still learning how to make new friends, and I had a few, but I still felt like I was in the right place. During these years, my uncle would always let me sing in karaoke and helped me improve my voice, making me start to love music. I also just realized how much I liked school because of the many good people I was surrounded by as a child. My school gave me the same excitement I feel when I see an ice cream trike nearby!

Elementary Years/School Age

Elementary was when my love for school grew. I have always been eager to learn and make a name someday. I used to love joining Girl Scout camps even though I didn't like socializing as a kid. I was also a part of the Supreme Pupil Government as Secretary!

Adolescence

I am now 17—barely surviving.

I met people in these chapters of my life whom I can't imagine my life without now. My junior high school years were tough, but it was like Komorebi (木漏れ日), a Japanese word that describes the scattered light created when sunlight filters through the leaves of trees. On the other hand, my senior high school years were and still are a rough road, but they shaped me into who I am now, and I know these experiences can help me in the future.

Personal Development has helped me improve and understand myself more. It helped me know more of what I lack, what I need to improve, and solutions to my problems I missed to find and do. I am personally attached to this subject because of how much it speaks care and love for its learners, especially with my teacher who made this subject comforting and peaceful amidst all the chaos in my head. It made me feel important and validated with whatever I go through and feel as a human being. This subject made my 1st Semester bearable.

2. What were your key takeaways from the subject?

It is very important that we care and pay attention to ourselves. In our generation, we tend to be more hidden and our walls tend to be higher. We seek help less and isolate ourselves more, and I think these are factors why our generation is much more depressing and gloomy. This subject has made me realize that it is okay to not be okay. So it's okay to lower down our walls and seek help, because we are normal human beings, we experience pain and negative emotions. But that doesn't make us less of who we are.

If we pay attention to which wound needs to be healed, we can endure life a little bit more than what needs to be endured. This subject is a reminder that we can be weak at times, but we can also choose to be strong at times.

3. What two topics were your favorites and why?

I personally loved the topics "Powers of the Mind" and "Mental Health and Well-Being" because these topics was an open-eye to how our brain really works. The first topic gave me the knowledge of the scientific works of our mind. While the second topic taught me how our mind can affect our emotions and how we can help ourselves. These two are essential in understanding ourselves instead of diagnosing without professional help.
