My favorite part is when finally the bear realizes that he is just a normal bear and all the people and bears how denied it where wrong.

"A bear wanders into a cave for a long winter's nap, only to wake up and find that while he slept, human progress has continued, and a factory has been built over the forest where his cave was located. He awakens to find himself in the midst of an industrial complex. He encounters the bewildered foreman who mistakes him for just another worker and orders him to get to work. To which he responds, 'But I'm not a man, I'm a bear.'"

Analysis of the book.

"Although it appears as a children's book, this story takes a critical and satirical look at aspects of society. It revolves around the concept that people believe a repeated idea even if it may not be true, especially when influential figures or opinion leaders say it. People have a tendency to change their views if a concept is hammered into them repeatedly, much like the bear being told he was a 'silly, unshaven man in a fur coat.'"
