One of the reasons this happened was because of peoples devotion to excellent their religious practices, this lead to their movitvation sparking and getting them to go on travel, explore all of the earth around them. Religion inspires the discoveries of new science and technology. Each religion had different worldwide views, different views means different understandings leading to investigations; different religions (or beliefs) have a powerful impact on what they study/write, what outlines their writings and studies.

There may have been some conflict over some ideas (religious or scientific) but many Islamic teachings reinforce some scientific work. The holy book and Prophet Mohammed, peace be upon him, have encouraged investigating the world around them. Many of the Muslim scientific writers even traveled, studied and wrote without many limitations. Islam as a culture has let many discoveries be made.
