In Ecuador, the cultivated area is less than 25 hectares. 
The document also shows that there are 18,890 laboratories that process coca powder and leaves worldwide. Among them, Latin America accounted for 97.5% and Ecuador 13, accounted for 0.03%.

In 2020, 128,432 kilos of drugs were seized. This figure was 61.49% higher than that of 2019. Between January and February 2021, the National Police seized 22,629 kilos of narcotics. In the second reform, the thresholds that distinguished the scales of trafficking are reduced to quantities that blur the line between micro-trafficking and consumption. 
This has led to a 60 per cent increase in the number of people arrested.
