• In the NPR recording, "Brain Maturity Extends Well Beyond the Teen Years" the speaker, Sandra Aamodt, a neuroscientist, believes that maturity in adults happens after the age of 18, closer to the age of 25.
• "So the changes that happen between 18 and 25 are a continuation of the process that starts around puberty, and 18 year olds are about halfway through that process. Their prefrontal cortex is not yet fully developed. That's the part of the brain that helps you to inhibit impulses and to plan and organize your behavior to reach a goal."

According to author , they state many things you can do when you turn 18,and show all the examples of things you can do legally like voting,joining the military or adopting a child .But many things come with conseuenqenses of doing these things and having the ability to have acsess to these ." It is important to keep in mind that the responsibilities and consequences of being 18 are much more severe than they were as a minor". In the article  the author  demonstrates that a person comes of age when they have all these things to do. "While turning 18 comes with many new opportunities, rights, and responsibilities, there are a few restrictions that have yet to be lifted". I believe this article supports coming of age because it shows all the things your allowed to do when your 18 .

• "I wanted to keep some of my parents traditions but celebrate at a different age."
• "The modern quincernera has become the 21st-century manifestation of what it means to be visible ina n american system on your own terms"
• it celebrates a girl entering womanhood when she turns 15. My thoughts on this article is that having a quincenera is a good way to celebrate your culture and prepares you for when you do turn 18 and i feel like it also helps with the maturity since your only 15 but you have the idea of entering womanhood and soon becoming an adult.
