In the short story ''the last lesson'' it can be inferred that Franz is going to end up maybe listening in class. In line 9 ”Go to your place quickly, little Franz. We were beginning without you.” I believe that Franz will start listening to class and actually start doing his work when he goes into his other class. When Franz came to school he didn't listen a lot he couldn't focus when he was there so I believe when he goes to his next class he's going to do his work according to paragraph 15 ''Oh, how sorry I was for not learning my lessons, for seeking birds’ eggs, or going sliding on the Saar! My books, that had seemed such a nuisance a while ago, so heavy to carry, my grammar, and my history of the saints, were old friends now that I couldn’t give up''. His friends were a problem with his learning so in the future he will be better in class.

In the short story "The Last Lesson", it can be inferred that Franz might learn about a significant event or announcement, possibly related to changes in the education system due to the Franco-Prussian War. The blacksmith's comment, "Don't go so fast, bub; you'll get to your school in plenty of time!" This quote hints at important news at school.
