I was born in raised in Pittsburgh, PA. A city that many people love, but can sometimes be difficult to live in as far as my experience, but I feel that it has prepared me for some of my other travel. I've traveled to a couple of different countries within the last few years and I've had good experiences. The only place where some people seemed rude was Paris, but I think that was just their mannerisms. People always stare as if I am foreign, but that is something I've learned to get used to. I don't have many relationships with people from other cultures, but the one I do have it a great relationship. We learn from each other such as language and different dishes.

Being an African American/Black woman, although I feel like it is rewarding, my experiences can sometimes be exhausting. Both of my parents are African Americans, born in Pennsylvania.

Growing up, I was raised around two different religions. My mom was Baptist and my dad was Moorish American. Although neither one of them forced religion onto us, we were able to see both sides and were able to make the decisions for ourselves as far as our religious journey.

I come from a middle-class family. Both parents worked decent jobs. My parents were young when they started their family. My dad has an undergrad degree and my mom has an associate's degree. I am currently also considered middle class as an adult.

I was born in 1992, I will be 32 this year and I had a decent amount of life and work experience. I've worked in a charter school, a boarding school, and now at an university. I have experience working with special education K-8th, high school seniors, and now young adults within the community.

I can say that I am privileged as far as my education. I am currently pursuing my third degree. When going for my undergraduate degree I was able to receive the Pittsburgh Promise, which was a grant that helped with tuition. It wasn't until grad school I had to take out loans. For middle and high school, I was in a magnet program. They ended up closing my high school and making us smaller which cut a lot of elective courses and the international students had to be transferred to other schools. When I visited other schools in the suburbs you could instantly tell that the funding was completely higher. Everything was newer, all resources were readily available and it was a comfortable environment, which was a complete difference from my school.

Two single parents sharing custody/co-parenting. Both of my parents got along well and were both very involved in our lives. I have three siblings and my parents made sure that we were close. I am currently in a relationship and expecting my first child this year.
