The day I was born

My name is Diana Carolina Diaz Cuartas, and I was born in Chia, Colombia, on June 27th 1986. My parents told me that they felt very nervous, but happy, due to I was their first child.

My first accident

I remember when I was in second grade, I was playing with my classmates and one of them pushed me, it was not intentional, but I broke my head, in fact I didn't feel pain at that moment, I only saw blood on my shirt, then my teacher arrived, and my classmates started to scream, I felt very worried and then my head started to hurt. They treated the wound and I didn't have to go to the hospital.

The day I lost my little brother.

One of the worst days of my life was when my mom asked me to pick up my little brother at his school, his name is David Santiago, and he was 6 years old, I went to pick him up at 5:15 pm obviously children are not allowed to leave until someone comes for them, but that day I don't know what happened, when I arrived, he was gone.

I felt worried, overwhelmed, sad. I don't know how to describe everything that went through my mind. I started looking around for him and asked several people if they had seen him. It was driving me crazy, but, thank God, he has always been a pretty smart guy, and he had learned my father's cell phone number and, when he felt lost, he asked a young woman to help him call my father. I was relieved, happy and proud of my little brother.

The happiest day of my life

September 23, 2011, was the happiest day of my life, I always felt that my destiny was to travel. My parents knew it and gave me a trip to Buenos Aires, Argentina. I had never traveled alone, and I was always shy and with anxiety problems; however, that day I was so happy that I didn't care about anything, I can't explain how grateful I was with God, with my parents and with life. That trip changed my life completely, it helped me in every aspect, and it became a trip of more than five years.

One of my favorite trips

In 2018, I had the opportunity to travel to Panama for vacation, I was very excited, and I had many expectations, I went with my boyfriend and my mother-in-law, we did a tour to San Blas islands, I never expect them to be so beautiful, It was one of the most magical and satisfying days of my life.

My second accident

In 2018, I was traveling with my brother and three of our friends for the weekend, in a curve one of the tires of the car we were in, broke and the car overturned, we made a total of six turns and in each one I felt like I would never open my eyes again, I never felt so much fear, anguish and anxiety in my entire life. Thank God, we all got out safely and had no complications or serious injuries.

One of the saddest days of my life

I was living in Guatemala for those days in 2018, and I received the news of the passing of my beloved grandmother Magolita, she was the love of my life, and I was far away from home, I am not usually very affectionate, but I felt sadder than ever in my life, thank God I was with my boyfriend's family who is a very loving family, and they helped me to overcome that situation, they made me feel much better, and although I could not travel to say goodbye to her, I found the comfort I needed.

A horrible night

Going back in time, I remembered a horrible experience I had when I lived in Argentina. It was December 2014, and I was with a Colombian friend and two Argentinean friends at the house of one of them, we ordered drinks, and we don't know what happened, but three armed men arrived, they entered the apartment and threatened us, they started to take valuables from my friend's house, everything was confusing, we felt too nervous, however I decided to talk to one of the thieves, ask him about personal things, etc. That helped us a lot because in the end they tied us up and gagged us, but the thief I talked to helped us and freed us.

A very good birthday

June 27th, 2022 was an unforgettable birthday. I traveled to the city of Barranquilla to accompany my boyfriend in his work and to celebrate my birthday in another city, but for those days my cousin Pamela surprisingly returned from Australia after five years without meeting we decided to meet in Santa Marta, there would arrive my aunt and other relatives, to my surprise other relatives that I love very much were also there spending the weekend and I had the opportunity to have a beautiful birthday surrounded by family, friends and I was very happy.

A beautiful Christmas

My last Christmas was very nice, my boyfriend and I are living in the city of Medellín and my boyfriend's mother and his brother who are from Guatemala came to spend those dates with us, we visited many places, we got to know the Colombian customs of those dates, and we all felt very happy thanks to God for being able to share another year together.
