In traditional Korean culture, boys are often privileged over girls. I saw this happen a lot when I visited my relatives as a child. My aunt would serve food to the my uncles and even my 8-year-old nephew before the women. When I talked to my parents about this, they agreed that this was an unfair and outdated tradition. I decided that I would teach my own children differently in the future.

I've always enjoyed playing Football from a very young age, to a 17 year old in high school. Football has taught me so many life lessons that directly correlate in my life such as showing resillience, determination, and trying your absolute hardest in everything you do. I always try to distinguish my self from the rest on the field by showing poise, good sportsmanship and being a vocal leader for my teammates around me. Football is the ultimate team sport, and without your teammates all, it becomes very difficult to succeed. I have been recognized with an All State, All County, and All Conference awards in my time playing at Oyster Bay High school. I have also been honored with being named as a Newsday Top 100 Football player on long island. Although, all of these honors seem individualized, I couldn't have received any of these accolades without my brother and my teammates.

April 15th 2024, I broke my radius bone during my lacrosse game. There was two minutes left, and our team was losing by twelve points. Even without a chance in the world of winning, I was still giving it 110% of my effort. Unfortanately, my recovery from breaking my arm took a really look time. I was in a cast for 18 weeks, and I needed a lot of physical therapy. Breaking my arm has taught me how to always be positive, take each week day by day and take notice of little progress rather than overall.

One thing people have done for me that I will forever be grateful of is my parents raising me through childhood and caring for me as a young man. My parents have put so much time, money, and effort into making me the best person that I could possibly be. Whether it is my parents driving to my quarterback training that's forty five minutes away, or cooking me dinner every night, I am so thankful for the generosity in caring for me over the years.
