Why should we know what stalking is? How will it affect us? You might think that it's indifferent for you to know about it or not, but the truth is that you can help other people around you if you know how to deal with it. To begin with, stalking is a persistent digital harassment caused to an individual via online ( like social media or via email) It can cause several damage to the victim, such as emotional or even physical discomfort during to stress or fear.

Sometimes, we can find stalking in the form of messages, tags to posts we have no relation with on instagram, or threats to publish some sensitive content about us.

Some of the ways in which we can approach this problem are:

Blocking the stalker.
Reporting the stalker or the website or to the police.
Changing our email or username in the site so that we are no longer accessible.

Also, these are some ways of protecting ourselves from stalkers beforehand:

Avoid posting private information about ourselves (where we live, year of birth,...)
Avoid sharing our location in time on social media posts or stories (and simply sharing them once we are no longer in that place)
Create a neutal name for us to use online that protects our indentity.
