The policy was looked upon as an injustice of human rights. Though the policy has been overturned it still only allows 2 children per family.

This means that there will be a big part of the society that wont be able to work in labour compared to before the policy was implemented. Also there is a big difference between the genders, because males are more wanted then women, approximately 1,15 men for every women.

It was introduced in 1979 and began to be formally phased out in 2015. The purpose with the policy was to reduce China’s population together with gaining control over the high birth rate in the period it was introduced, as the Chinese government was in fear of overpopulation.
