I got to explore CIS which was interesting. (There was a cafe and a very large carpark.) I was part of the UNFCCC committee along with 38 other delegates below 18 years old and over the course of 3 days, we held moderated and unmoderated caucuses to discuss resolutions for climate change. In the end, all of us had reasonable draft resolutions and we became friends. There were also seminars which we could attend during lunchtime and I chose to listen to a chess seminar which links chess to political history. First of all, I have a great fear of heights. However, height is a main factor in extreme sports like skydiving, bouldering, rooftop-climbing and even parkour, so I believe that it will not be of my liking. I am not a really athletic person as well. I’m not interested in sports and prefer to do something which requires less energy, such as reading. Extreme sports is also known to be treacherous. Studies show that there was an average of 5.16 out of 10,000 people who suffer from head and neck injuries per year. Even though it is a low percentage, I am still not willing to risk my life simply for a dose of adrenaline. I still remember a time when my friend went for rock-climbing. She described that it was really frightening to scale up to such a high point. She also mentioned that she was constantly afraid that the vest securing her would be unfastened. In the end, she got injured and regretted her decision to try out rock-climbing and found it a great waste of money. Even though rock climbing is not really considered an extreme sport, I was also rather concerned about my safety and understood that I was not capable of trying out an extreme sport.   But it wasn’t any regular fall.

  Apparently I fell down on the side of the road and the sharp edge had cut through my knees. I remembered being sprawled close to the road, the blood that instantly streamed down from the wound, and the overwhelming pain that came rushing over me in a matter of seconds.

  And I couldn’t walk.

  But I still tried to stand up. I used my bicycle as support when I had to walk for the rest of the way.
