Aboriginal leaders agreed to the residential schools because they hoped that their children would be educated and be able to learn the skills that would assist them in becoming a part of the society of the newcomers to Canada. The goal of the Europeans was to fully integrate the children of the First Nations People and they would assimilate them into European culture, they would eliminate the cultures of the First Nations.

Nellie McClung the 43 year old women is standing up for female rights in manitoba, Ont. and got the right for women to vote in only one year time, Nellie wouldn't give up until she got her way so she came back to the office with more power than ever to get the rights she and many others deserve. The supreme court of canada did not think that females shoud have the right to vote because they stay home and do housework, however she won the appeal of thr judicial committee of the british privy council and got the right to vote. Nellie and the suffragettes went through a lot to get where they are although people try to tell them other wise, Nellie still got what she wanted and it is only the begining.
- monica
