I learn a lot about slavery this week and some new things I learned about were the broadsides, the cruelness put among these African Americans, and all of the escapes these slaves tried. I would love to learn more about the escapes, and I would also want to know what went on in the mind of the slave owners heads that made them think this was okay. One question I have is how much food was given to the slaves to keep them healthy and what food was it

I learned more about the flyers aka the broadsides for the missing slaves and it just shows how far we've come as a people and knowing the way people treated African Americans was just unnecessary and cruel. comes to the next thing I learned is the underground railroad and because of the mentality that they had to try and risk it all just to be free and not working for a master. 2 things that I still want to know is why would they take new born babies away from family? and Why did it take so long for justice to be served for African Americans? . The question I still have about slavery is why didn't they care for all slaves and not just give the in house slaves better living?

Some things I still want to learn are the escapes from the slaves and another thing i would like to learn is why the slave owners bought the slaves and put them trough that torture that they did not deserve. One question I have is why did slave owners put the slaves trough that stuff?

I also didn't know that owners were willing to go to extreme measures to find slaves that ran away like making broadsides. I would like to know why it costs so little money to find runaway slaves and their families if the slaves are so important to find?

I learned how slaves were transported to the us and what their living conditions where on the ship. I learned about broadsides and that they were used to find runaway slaves and to let people know there were slaves for sale. I also learned about the working and living conditions slaves had, like pregnant woman had to work up until the baby was born. I would still like to know how runaway slaves started their new lives. Also why African Americans that were free in the north and weren’t runaways were captured and taken to the south. 1 question I have is when slaves were freed did they ever look for their family that they were esperares from?

I learned about the underground railroad and how it was about trains it was about how they had path to escape. I also learned that they had auction for the slaves and most of the time at the auctions family where separated form each other. I learned that there was a 1 year old kid sold at one of the auction... slaves where sold to work in the kitchen or the field. you where lucky if you got picked to work in the kitchen because you got better place to sleep more food and clothes.... most of the owners wanted the women to have kids so they did have paid for there slaves. so most of the women had kids before they go into there twenties. there is a lot more I did learn but it to much to type up.

I learned about the extreme measures slave owners and slave catchers would go through just to catch slaves again and how slaves were treated like animals rather than people being locked in cages and stared at and inspected like pageant animals for a beauty show. I learned three things, what broadsides were, that enslaved women had 4-5 kids usually by 20 and how pregnant women had to work up until the baby was born. My question that I have about slavery is why go so far to hurt and kill an entire race just for a source of workforce, why hurt so many people especially women and children.

And how they living conditions were and them having to work even if they had a disease. My question is why would they hurt so many men, women and children they already trying to fight to stay alive

I learned about how unfair the treatment to each slave was. Some were treated worse then others. But either way none were treated as equal as the whites. If a slave ran away they would be punished very brutally. I don't think people really understand the pain African Americans went through. To the cold winters outside and the warm summers picking cotton in the field. Each day they had to have the faith to stay alive.

I learned how slaves were treated as if their not human, I learned how Massachusetts became the first North American Colony to recognize slavery as an institution which is sad I learned how laws banning the African Slave Trade went into effect in the U.S. and all British Colonies. I still want to know why did it take people so long to see that this is a cruel act upon the human race and I still want to know what did the slaves eat, one question I have is what made the owner of slaves find pleasure in what they did.
