He wanted to eliminate aristocracy and give more voice and power to the common men. An example of him trying to do the right decision but acting in a wrong way is the Indian Removal Act, in which treaties are created with and land is bought from Native Americans. The act had good intensions but it was basically forcing the Native American tribes out.

Native Americans were forced off of their land for the gains of the white, and thus Jackson was not a champion for them.

He also opposed the Second National Bank in order to protect individual rights of farmers and the lower class because he believed that most of the power was held in the hands of aristocrats and higher class individuals. He represented the common man because he came from a farmer background and was the first president to try to spread power to the lower class. Although he tried to make great positive change, he proposed the Indian Removal Act which forced Indians to move to the west. Many Native Americans died and this was called the Trail of Tears.
