Baptism celebrates the new life in the church as an infant or an adult. It cleanses us from Original Sin, a type of sin that we inherited from Adam and Eve. Baptism was initially introduced by John the Baptist when he began baptizing people in the Jordan River and later baptized Jesus. A deacon or priest pours water over the forehead of the infant or adult three times and says, "I baptize you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." In Baptism, water, sacred chrism, white garment, and a candle are all used as symbols of this sacrament.

Eucharist started when Jesus had the Last Supper with his apostles. There, Jesus presented to them bread and wine symbolizing his body and blood. Eucharist celebrates the unity between the recipient and Jesus when the person takes the body and blood. Bread and wine are the most significant symbols of eucharist. The ritual that is performed in Eucharist is the consecrating to the bread and wine.

In the sacrament of Confirmation, Catholics celebrate the full reception of the Holy Spirit. Confirmation also allows us to begin a new faith journey. Through the sacrament of Confirmation we receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Confirmation first started when the Holy Spirit descended on Jesus's disciples. The Holy Spirit guided them to spread the life and ministry of Jesus. Some symbols of Confirmation are the Sacred Chrism, laying on of hands, and fire. To become confirmed you must take weekly confirmation classes, choose a sponsor, and choose a name of a saint.

When God strips away our Original Sin in Baptism, we experience God's Grace because he shows us that we belong with him. In Eucharist, God shows us his love by giving us his own body and blood to us. People that have received the sacrament of confirmation experience God's grace when the Holy Spirit descends on them and fill them with it's gifts.
