" My school memories are good because i made really good friends. I met some of my besties then. However, it was hard at the beginning because I didn´t know anybody. Also, I had a bad time because English was new to me but the teacher was very good and I think i like this language so much because of her!"

I spoke to Marc B. C. (19 years old) and this he told me:
"I spent two years in high school at the Antoni Ballester High School where I met my old classmates. These two years in high school I had some really good experiences. One of them was being able to see my childhood friends again and make new friends at the same time. We were just one class of twenty-five people where we all formed a family and spent many hours together, laughing and also studying, but more hours laughing. Finding each other again made us remember past events and stories and regain the confidence that had been lost throughout ESO. In high school, the arrival of the pandemic caused us to distance ourselves a little from the class group as we could not share class hours together. The class group was also reduced to fifteen people because many of them saw that their professional path did not require high school studies.

These two years have given us some anecdotes that are hard to forget. One of them was the "famous" whatsapp group where we criticized some teachers every day, passed memes and talked about what we would do the next day. We must not forget the many strikes that we did almost every Friday in the first year of high school, where the Principal finally accepted them for us. Economics classes on Mondays where we went to the economics department and watched a movie and fell asleep because it was 8:30 in the morning. And last but not least, the history classes where every day we did a little reflection of some character or political position or belief and laughed putting the dictators, hymns and political positions that were controversial and gave topic to debate in the subject."

I spoke to Sara ( 25 years old) and this is what she told me: She did high school in this secondary school, it was a very demanding stage (above all third) until I was fourth. What he remembers about that year was that they were only preparing for the competency basics, and when they finished it was a lot of fun, especially for the class he played and the teachers, but because of the confinement all this fun ended.

I asked my brother called Genís. M. B. (19 years old) and he explained that he's experience is very exiting and he save many memories together and his best friend, a good classmate. He explained too, in the end of everything in the classroom, they made a corner with tree tables called "shishadesk" (the name is very illogical, well the teachers never said anything to him, and they, (my brother and his besfriend) always are penalized outside de classroom.

“I went to high school Antoni Ballester for two years and I went to high school in Salou because we moved there. I remember it as a good experience because most teachers are nice and fun. It was very difficult for me to adapt to the new high school, because the teachers they are very strict.”

I spoke with my aunt Tatiana. She's 39 years old.
She was here, in hight school "Antoni Ballester".
It was the first year that the students study in this building.
She explained me an experience that she had. Her friends were naughty because they did bad things. There was a teacher called "5 minutes teacher" ("el dels 5 minuts") because when they had a shower after physical education subject, this teacher told them "just 5 minutes" ("falten 5 minuts").
Another experience was more dangerous. They were in class when someone burn the blackboard. That people was very dangerous.
It was a funny year but also it was a difficult year to learn.

O: Is has been god.
N: How many years have passed in high school Antoni Ballester?
O: I spent four years in E.S.O. and two years in Bachillerat.
N: Which courses have you found most difficult?
O: They have first of E.S.O. and second of Bachillerat.
First of E.S.O. because it is a big change as you move from school to E.S.O. and second of Bachillerat because this course focused in preparing for selectivity and that added extra pressure apart from the exams of the course itself.
N: Which subject was best for you and which one was worse?
O: The one that gave me best in technology because it was a subject that I think interesting and useful ; and the one that gave me the worst was English, because even though I tried, it was always my weak point.

Juan Manuel was the most handsome boy in high school. All the girls in high school were crazy about him. He went third in Bat and my group first that.

For days we wanted to tell him that we liked him a lot. We never dared. One day I was brave and willing.

And you know what happened? That when I met him in front of me he was blank and I was so embarrassed that I went to the bathroom crying and thinking about the ridicule I made.

From that day when I saw him coming down the school hallway, I was running in the opposite direction so he wouldn’t see me.

I spoke to my uncle Rachid B. (32 years old) and this is what he told me:

He entered this institute, when it was located in Maria Martori Park, he still remembers his class (a bunker) and especially his classmates and teachers.
He was a naughty boy, he liked to make people laugh in class, he had a lot of fun making jokes with his teachers and classmates. But other than that, he was a hard worker.
At that time, he made any new friends who helped him adjust to high school.

The anecdote he still remembers was what he did one day to his math teacher: he put the little rubbish on top of the door, so when the teacher came in, he fell on top of her.
The joke came out great and the best part was that he was saved and the teacher did not punish him.

He has a lot of anecdotes, such as chewing gum, marbles in the yard... But the most special is the rubbish on the head of the math teacher.
He will always remember high school as a time of fun and new friends.
