https://padlet.com/berrimant/s08vzm9yvwsj Please share ways you are building relationships with your students en-us 2018-03-04 15:37:56 UTC 2018-03-12 01:29:21 UTC hello@padlet.com https://padlet-uploads.storage.googleapis.com/256136677/7e3dfb1fa711ba51d4c10b9b3cf2dcb3/Alpena_High_School__Michigan__logo.gif https://padlet.com/berrimant/s08vzm9yvwsj/wish/238033955 I have found that taking a few moments to share with students one's Real Life issues does wonders in establishing a solid rapport.  I always try to couch it in humor, and I am honest in presenting my own struggles outside of school.  For example, what to do about my daughter who leaves a trail of nose tissues throughout the house?  Is there a solution if she chooses not to participate?  Right now, the only "solution" is for me to be a gross sort of Pac-Man.  I even make the chomping sound effects when I pick them up!  The students readily take to this.  Having a good laugh (even if you're the only one chuckling) is a great way to fuse relationships together.

It helps to build relationships in the classroom. I also tell stories about my life to help them realize I am a person outside of school too. I like to bring in humor, song and a little dancing if it will move the lesson along. :)
