Improvements in refrigeration have resulted in a significant drop in bacterial food-borne viruses, however Norovirus is still unaffected. The norovirus is permanent in the environment and resistant to cold air. Since the beginning, we have been consuming food that may have been handled by ill people. Why would we not catch the virus and spread it if the food we eat is tainted when it is obviously not our fault? As more people travel, more people are subjected to the norovirus through hotels, aircraft, other passengers, etc.
