Social Institution

A complex, integrated system of roles, values, and customs that control how people behave and are expected to behave within a society;this rules influence how people interact with one another and how society functions. Includes the family, which serves as the main socializational unit and is charge of raising and educating children, as well as education which spreads cultural values, information, and skills and gets people ready to engage in society as whole and finally religion it offers answers to existential concerns as well as moral advice, a sense of community, and a sensible of belonging.

I believe social institutions are important foundations of society because it shapes people's identities and values. Institutions like education and family play significant roles in our lives it prepares us for our future roles in society giving us a sense of stability and education promotes our critical thinking and problem solving so that we can have a progress and also a secure employment and a advance in our careers which is essential. Religion i believe gives a feeling of belonging. Together, these factors created harmony, equality and the general well-being of society.

Entry #2 Material and non material culture

A culture intagible components, such as its ideas, values, customs, norms and symbols, which influence social behavior and a group's collective identity are referred to as non material on the other hand Material culture describes the tangible items that people apply to establish their culture. This includes things that represent a society's values and beliefs and are physical, touchable and visible.

I like how material and non material culture point out the connection of the two, proving that culture embraces more than just material things; it also includes values and beliefs. Material culture in my opinion serves in shaping a sense of identity and belonging within a society. Tools, clothing and monumentals. For example, The Gateway of India in Mumbai which represent a group's history, traditions, and values. I believe that it can also help people interact because individuals can share and create common experiences like food and clothing and most importantly it can allow future generations to connect with the past and preserve customs and practices. Another important thing I believe is that non material culture is what shapes our behavior in society since it contains norms, values and beliefs that in my opinion help people explore social situations. For example, beliefs and values these are the primary ideas that govern societal behavior and decision-making.

Entry #3 Social stratification

It refers to a society's categorization of its people into rankings based on factors like wealth, income, education, family background and power. Sociologists use the term social stratification to describe the system of social standing. People who make up society's layers commonly symbolize the unnequal distribution of its resources. Those with greater resources are seen by society as the uppermost layer of the social hierchary. The lower layer are represented by other population groupings with progressively fewer resources.

In my personal opinion, I think that social stratification can be both positive and negative because on one side, it may encourage others to better their conditions in life and work towards success; on the contrary, it represents unfairness since it is a unequal distribution of resources, power, and privilege where certain groups have a advantage over others. I feel like this viewpoint can keep people from moving up the social ladder regardless of their capacity or their efforts. Understanding and being aware of these social hierchary is important since in doing so it can help develop policies and actions that creates a more stable society.

A socially constructed conecept, race groups people according to common physical traits such skin color, facial features, and hair texture. These traits frequently match historical background and geographic ancestry. But it's crucial to remember that race has no biological foundation ; rather, it is a reflection of societal customs and cultural ideas.

I think that the idea of race has a big impact on social dynamics, identity, and social fairness in societies. Racial classification serve as a justifications for inequality and injustice. These social norms keep some racial groupings at a disadvantage. Since solving larger societal challenges requires an awareness of race, I think it is critical to push for equality and acceptance. By removing misconceptions, encouraging kindness, working toward a more fair society, we can bring people together despite their diversity.

A political system or kind of governance known as authoritarianism is distinguished by the concentration of power in the hands of one leader or group and the restriction of the populace's civil and political liberties. The government usually controls a large number of facets of both public and private life in an authoritarian system; free expression is restricted, and coercion or force is frequently used to keep the government in power. Regular, free, and fair elections are not possible because of it.

In my opinion, this land of governance frequently comes with the loss of political participation, individual liberties, and human rights. I find it unfair that people have no say in anything, and I think that this concentration of power raises the possibility of corruption and power abuses. It frequently undercuts the ideas of equality and liberty. It might eventually lead to a political change when the public becomes unsatisfied with the lack of political liberties.
