NPS Achieve students are building valuable life skills while making a meaningful difference in our community. Students shop for healthy food, prepare and cook meals, and create frozen meals for Natick families in need. Individual Frozen meals are available at any Natick Public School—no questions asked—to anyone who needs one. We are incredibly proud of our Achieve students for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to supporting the Natick community. Their efforts are making a real difference!

To me, kindness is always being willing to stand up for, defend, and support others whose voices have been marginalized. Kindness is a smile in the hallway, a hug on a bad day, and holding open a door. Kindness is celebrating others' joys and pushing our peers to be their very best, being their rock when the challenge gets to be too much for them.

One day I saw a woman walking home with 3 bags of groceries. The paper bags did not have handles and it looked difficult while walking. I offered her a ride and she refused, but I was able to give her 2 reusable grocery bags from my trunk. She transferred the groceries into the bags with handles and had an easier ride home.

It didn't seem like a big deal to me but she was very thankful that I stopped and offered to help. I feel time is the biggest we can give and it doesn't take much to make a difference.

Kindness is important because it can really affect how people look at you, or how their day goes. Without kindness, the world would be a much scarier place and there would be a lot more violence than necessary.

The kindest person I know is my best friend. She is always there for me without me asking and to me that illustrates a huge form of kindness because she chooses to be there for me. She could always get up and leave but she has always stuck with me. I appreciate her greatly for that.

Every morning when my bus arrives at school, there's someone holding open the doors for everyone going in from the bus circle. It's the same person every day, and they're always there no matter how cold it is. Even though It's a small action, I think this person's kindness is inspiring.

I witnessed an act of kindness when I found a painted kindness rock on the ground. It impacted my day, and certainly brought a smile to my face. Small acts of kindness can have large impacts on others!

An act of kindness I received happened last year. I was in the bathroom and began feeling really nauseous, but my friend took the time to bring me to the nurse, despite her having a class next block.

I received kindness when I first joined the Crew team this season. I was very new and my teammates accepted that I did not understand the terminology and the correct form. However they knew I had the ability to perform well in the stern they were patient with me and taught me well.

I was walking into my doctor's appointment and some lady was coming out of the building carrying a child and had two other very young kids walking with her. I waited for her to reach the door and held it open for her.

Kindness is important because it shows that there are still good people in the world. With all the stress of school or work and tensions rising between people, It's important to be able to see how kindness is still prevalent in my world. For example, my friends give me snacks when I forget to pack food for the day or I've witnessed people holding the doors open for others which make me notice the good things in everyday life.
