Happy half term! I can’t quite believe we are already at the end of our first half term.

Following the research projects we carried out last year, we have made some exciting changes and developed our very own Outdoor Class. This gives the class of children the opportunity to access much of their curriculum outdoors during the morning, followed by a more class-based afternoon.

For the children involved, this approach has been carefully planned to support regulation, engagement in learning, communication, independence and overall development, while making the most of everything that learning outdoors can offer. Families of the children involved have already been contacted and we are really excited to see how this develops.

As always, at the end of each half term we look carefully at each child’s learning and progress, as well as the wider, holistic picture. This helps us decide whether anything needs to change or whether any additional or specialist input or support would be helpful. If we ever feel that something isn’t working as well as we would like, or that a change would benefit your child, we will always contact you to discuss this. Equally, we really value hearing from you if there is something you feel we need to know, consider or work on. Strong relationships between home and school, with everyone working together around the child, are so important in helping our children thrive.

Thank you, as always, for your support. One of the things we are most proud of at Kingsbury is being able to adapt what we do so that our children can thrive, develop their independence and make progress in ways that are meaningful to them as individuals.

Thank you also to everyone who attended our first Parents’ Evening of the year last night. Our next Parents’ Evening will be at the end of the summer term, with annual reports being sent home towards the end of the spring term/beginning of the summer term.

I will also shortly be sending out a parent questionnaire via Edulink. Please do take a few minutes to complete it if you can. Your views and feedback are incredibly valuable to us and help us to continue developing and improving what we offer our children and families.
