As we draw closer to the end of the course, I want to express gratitude to all of you. I have got the chance to learn from each one of you. When we initially started the course, being the first of its kind with complete focus on psychosocial interventions, we did have few apprehensions, but when we saw the motivation and eagerness of all of you, it only pushed us the extra mile to deliver the best.

We would request all of you to reflect on your learning journey being a part of the course.

Thank you

Tejdeepika

A Journey in Addiction Care

The CCPMSUD 1.0 course has been an enriching and academically rewarding experience. The evidence-based sessions, interactive live Tele-ECHO discussions, and case-based learning provided valuable insights into the clinical management of substance use disorders. The sessions on Motivational Interviewing and relapse prevention strengthened my understanding of patient-centred addiction care. The last three sessions were particularly insightful, highlighting the importance of mindfulness-based interventions, trauma-informed care, and family interventions in comprehensive addiction management. They reinforced the understanding that recovery extends beyond substance cessation and requires addressing emotional well-being, underlying trauma, family dynamics, and long-term relapse prevention. Learning from experienced faculty and engaging in clinical discussions helped bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. Overall, CCPMSUD 1.0 has enhanced my clinical perspective and confidence in managing patients with substance use disorders. I sincerely thank the Prabhat sir, Tejdeepika ma'am and VKN NIMHANS team for designing such a valuable, practical, and enriching learning experience.

-Dr Manan Desai, Gujarat

While being involved in managing patients with SUD as psychiatrist, i faced lots of limitations, primarily due to lack of some skills specially in psychological interventions. This Programme has helped me immensely in fulfilling some of those.Sessions on MI, Relapse prevention were very comprehensive, informative and adequate.Imporance on mindfulness based therapy, family intervention and trauma informed intervention in overall management and impact on outcome of treatment were well highlighted.

Case discussion helped a lot in learning the application of the skills imparted in the training.

In each step the faculty and Organisers helped whenever needed.

Assessment sessions were very interesting and challenging.

It is a wonderful and commendable work done by the team CAM,NIMHANS and VKN NIMHANS for bringing out such well organised and much needed skill training in managing patients with SUD.I thank them for giving me this opportunity to learn it with such ease. Looking forward for further such engagement in future.

Dr Prabir Thakuria

Guwahati
