All true. But like all good literature, the story does not end there: teaching was not ever going to be easy for me. I attended graduate school in the middle of a divorce. I was student teaching in March 2020. My first day as a certified teacher was my 45th birthday. The first period of my first year three students were in the room, and 24 were online. I spent 4 years in the inclusive classroom before cross certifying in special education.

I have experience in push-in and self-contained classrooms. I am currently serving in my second year as the AIM Program Leader at Warren Harding High School, East Side Bridgeport, Connecticut. I have some of the most difficult cases in the building. I'm honored to be here today to share what's worked, and what still needs work with my growing brand of anxious, unregulated, wonderful kids.

I am 52. I have three adult children (29, 25, and 19), .975 grandson (he's scheduled to be induced a week from tonight). I also a husband, two dogs, two and a half cats, six chickens and never enough books. Thank you for spending the afternoon with me!
