Students will receive personalised timetables a week before they begin.

Please find attached the timetable for the forthcoming Year 11 October Mock Examination Series. The timetable shows all subjects that will be sitting examinations during this mock period.

Please note that Art and Photography students will complete a full-day examination as part of their mock assessments. Further details regarding the arrangements and timings for these examinations will be communicated separately in due course.

Each student will receive a personalised examination timetable, including their allocated seat numbers, during the week before the mock examinations begin. We deliberately issue these closer to the start of the examination series to reduce the likelihood of them being misplaced.

We would like to stress the importance of full attendance throughout the mock examination period. These examinations play a vital role in helping students:

• Identify gaps in their knowledge and understanding.

• Gain valuable experience of formal examination conditions.

• Develop effective revision strategies ahead of their GCSE examinations.

• Build confidence and resilience in preparation for the summer examination series.

• Familiarise themselves with examination procedures and expectations.

Mocks provide an important opportunity for students to practise the skills required for success and to receive meaningful feedback that will help shape their preparation over the coming months. We therefore ask for your support in ensuring that students attend all scheduled examinations and arrive punctually.

Should you have any questions or concerns regarding the mock examination timetable or arrangements, please encourage your child to speak to their tutor in the first instance. Parents and carers are also welcome to contact Mr Morris or Mrs Prince, who will be happy to assist.

Attend Art Support Sessions every Tuesday from 3:00pm to 4:00pm in Room A5.

I am organising a visit to Barcelona in Spain which will take place in October 2027 during term time for students who are currently in Year 8.  We hope to give pupils a flavour of what life is like in Spain, visit local attractions and give the students plenty of opportunities to speak as much Spanish as possible. 

The trip will be officially launched in a few weeks’ time, and I wanted to give you advanced notice so that you can discuss it with your child, should they be interested in going on the trip. The trip details are:

• The dates of the visit: October 2027. Please note this will be in term time.

• Price approximately £820

• 4 day trip to Barcelona, flying from a local airport.

• Half board accommodation in a hotel

• Visit to the Nou Camp football stadium, the Sagrada Familia church, a cable car ride, local markets and Port Aventura theme park.

  
  

When the trip launch letter is given out in a few weeks, an initial deposit of £240 will be required to secure your child’s place on the trip, together with the signed reply slip. There are 40 places available on a first come first served basis. The launch letter will detail where and when to hand in your signed reply slip, as well as how to pay the deposit.

The Halloween trail is at Rufford Abbey this weekend, and the bake sale is next Friday as part of the Hello Yellow day.

Simply be in tutor on time every day and you'll be awarded Pumpkin Points on Class Charts!

All Year 11 and 13 students must therefore remain available to sit examinations up to and including 23 June 2027.

We kindly ask parents and carers to bear this in mind when making any holiday or other arrangements.

There were two separate pools for the tournament and Brunts were placed into pool A alongside: Quarrydale, Joseph Whitaker, Selston and Sutton Centre. Despite losing their first two pool games, the students showed great resilience and motivation to go on and secure a draw against Quarrydale and finished the pool games with a fantastic 5-0 win against Joseph Whitaker!

The whole squad should be extremely proud of their achievements across their school netball journey.The vast majority of these students have been attending netball club since year 7! Throughout this time, the girls have demonstrated outstanding commitment, team spirit, and personal growth. Their dedication to training and matches, combined with their positive attitude and support for one another, has helped them develop both individually and as a team.

They have faced challenges with resilience, celebrated successes together, and consistently represented the school with pride and sportsmanship. As they complete their final year, they should be extremely proud of the progress they have made and the strong bonds they have built. Their hard work, determination, and enthusiasm have left a lasting impact and provide a wonderful example for younger players to follow.

It was also fantastic to see them proudly step out on court tonight, in their new netball dresses! Following the daily badgering of Mr Fisher, to support the funding of these – Thank you!­­ Don’t they look professional! Well done girls – super proud teacher moment!

This is for pupils receiving their Bronze or Silver Awards.  Pupils that had completed all their sections were invited via email to this event two weeks ago.  This will be held on Wednesday 14^th October, 5:30pm, in the PDC.
