Il progetto vede la partecipazione delle classi III A con la prof.ssa Mercurio, III C con la prof.ssa Vaccaro e III D con la prof.ssa Mazzei. L'iniziativa nasce dalla collaborazione tra la scuola fondatrice del Portogallo e la co-fondatrice della Turchia, con la partecipazione di partner da Grecia, Ucraina e Italia. Il progetto punta a lavorare in modo concreto sui valori dell'empatia e del rispetto reciproco. Gli studenti saranno guidati a riconoscere le dinamiche del bullismo e del cyberbullismo, a comprenderne l'impatto sugli altri e ad adottare comportamenti consapevoli e responsabili sia nella vita scolastica di tutti i giorni sia nell'ambiente digitale. Le classi utilizzeranno la piattaforma digitale condivisa (TwinSpace) per confrontarsi e realizzare prodotti collaborativi con i loro coetanei europei attraverso un percorso che prevede la realizzazione di un e-book digitale "Paths we Share" per raccogliere riflessioni ed esperienze, a cui affiancheranno il murales digitale "European Kindness Memes Wall", incentrato sulla creazione di messaggi e meme positivi per contrastare l'odio online e promuovere la gentilezza in rete; i ragazzi lavoreranno alla stesura del fumetto digitale "Stand Up Squad", pensato per insegnare come intervenire attivamente di fronte a episodi di bullismo, alla composizione della canzone ufficiale del progetto "Choose Empathy" e all'utilizzo del kit di attività e giochi educativi "Play - Learn - Respect". Il percorso si collegherà alle principali ricorrenze sui temi della prevenzione e del benessere, come la Giornata Mondiale contro il Bullismo (20 ottobre), la Giornata Internazionale contro la Violenza e il Bullismo a Scuola (7 novembre), il Safer Internet Day per la sicurezza in rete, l'Empathy Day (12 aprile) e l'eTwinning Day (9 maggio).

Our journey in "Pathways to Respect" began with the project video. We watched it together and the image of many hands joined in the centre caught everyone's attention.

After the video we stopped on the words written on those hands – respect, empathy, diversity, inclusion, collaboration, self-esteem – and talked about what each of them means in our everyday life.

Watching "Papagaios de Papel"

Before the screening, we tried to guess what the film would be about: we looked at the title and talked about what kites and the word "bullying" might have in common.

While watching, we paused several times to notice small but important details: the characters' faces and body language, who was laughing and who stayed silent, and the moments when someone could have chosen to help.

After the film, a lively discussion started. Students shared their impressions, their comments on the characters' choices and their reflections on how a classmate can feel when nobody stands up for them. We collected the class's thoughts on the shared Padlet, in the "after the viewing" and "final reflection" sections.

Finally, the class completed Task A, working together to write a short summary of the film in English.

Working on laptops in class, the students of 3A Sellia Marina answered the online questionnaire about bullying, empathy and how safe and respected they feel at school. It was a quiet moment to stop and think about their own experiences before our journey begins. We look forward to comparing their answers at the end of the project!

Making our anti-bullying posters

Before World Anti-Bullying Day, the students of 3A Sellia Marina worked in small groups to create their posters. They drew the letters, cut them out of coloured paper, coloured a picture of figures holding hands in a circle and glued everything together. Everyone had a task, and the posters came to life thanks to real teamwork.

World Anti-Bullying Day was celebrated by our whole school, and the students of 3A Sellia Marina took part with their two posters: "Together we can stop bullying" and "Be a friend, not a bully". They held them up as a class and then placed their hands on them, as a sign of their commitment to speak up and stand by anyone who is left out or hurt.

Class 3D officially kicked off the project by watching the presentation video, which sparked a deeply meaningful discussion on anti-bullying and key values such as empathy, kindness, respect, and inclusion.

Reflecting on the true power of these words and sharing their expectations for this journey, the students expressed great enthusiasm for the upcoming activities.

On October 20th, all classes in Sellia Marina took part in Anti-Bullying Day through video screenings, class discussions, and various activities designed to raise awareness among our students.

Class 3D watched and reflected on the short film "Papagaios de Papel", completing dedicated activities on Padlet. To highlight the power and importance of words, the students selected two key quotes to create posters:

"Before you speak, THINK and BE SMART: it’s hard to fix a wrinkled heart"

"Your words matter: use them to BUILD, NOT BREAK"
