A special congratulations to Méabh, who finished an outstanding 2nd place out of 50 runners, and to Enny, who achieved an impressive 17th place. Well done also to Stefan, who finished strongly in 27th place. A special mention goes to Mia, who showed remarkable resilience by completing the race despite spraining her ankle along the way.

Thank you to all the families who came along to support and cheer on the team. Your encouragement was greatly appreciated by the runners.

This week, Reception children continued to talk about themselves and reflect on their ‘superpowers’, talents and ‘what they’re good at’.

We also discussed their families and the people who are important to them. The children drew pictures of their families and made marks to explain their thinking.

PE day for Reception Class is on Mondays 

This week in Maths, we are incredibly proud of how hard the children have been working to develop their number facts and fluency skills.

In Year 2, the children have been practising counting in 3s and using Numicon to explore counting from different starting points, helping the children to spot patterns and build confidence with numbers.

In Year 1, the children have been working on finding out one more and one less and developing their comparison skills. 

PE days for Year 1 & Year 2 are on Mondays and Tuesdays 

The children have been enjoying our new text, 'Cinnamon' by Neil Gaiman which is set in India and tells a story of a blind princess whose world begins to open up following a visit from a tiger.

Year 4 have been thinking about their senses and they realised how much they rely on their sense of touch and smell when trying to work out what was in the 'feely' bags they were given.

The children will be writing diary entries from the point of view of Cinnamon and so have been plotting her 'emotions journey' throughout the story to really understand how she might be feeling as the story develops.

PE days for Year 3 & Year 4 are Tuesdays & Fridays

Year 5 and 6 have just completed an art unit focusing on pen line seascapes.

We explored a range of drawing techniques, including contouring, stippling and crosshatching, to add detail, texture and depth to our artwork. The children carefully observed different sea creatures and used their growing artistic skills to create highly effective black and white drawings.

We were incredibly impressed by the concentration, creativity and perseverance shown and look forward to seeing their work displayed in our shared area.

PE days for Year 5 & Year 6 are Thursdays and Fridays.

Due to the two week half term being observed by some Surrey schools, we have changed our open morning dates to Tuesday 13^th and Wednesday 14^th October. 

Our Open Evening will still take place on Thursday 15^th October.
