This means that your young people will receive their appeal outcomes before both the October holidays and the 15 October UCAS deadline.

Please be aware that:  

• because this is a robust process that included a marking review of your young person's Qualifications Scotland-marked assessments, the outcome is final and there is no further option to appeal.  

• in line with the marking process for August results, Qualifications Scotland can’t provide individual feedback on appeals outcomes. 

Before going along to the kitchen each week, they are learning about Kitchen Safety, Kitchen Hygiene and have also started to prepare, by learning about the ingredients they are going to be cooking with and the methods they will use during lessons.

This week the young people made Apple Crumble. They watched videos in ESA about the Life Cycle of Apples and how to prepare the crumble before going along to the kitchen.

With a little support, they then prepared the crumbles before baking them and then washing and drying all their dishes with a partner. The smell in the kitchen when the crumbles were baking was sensational!

When the crumbles came out of the oven, they were golden brown and were all ready to be boxed up and taken home. There were lots of happy young people at the end of the lesson.

Pizza Wraps are the next thing the young people will be preparing and cooking during their Home Economics lessons. They are all looking forward to this and the onward baking and cooking they will do as the term progresses.

Students from the Green Room enjoyed a fantastic experience on the Hospitality Trail yesterday.

The day began at the V&A, where learners were challenged to create a promotional video for the museum. This was followed by a city-centre scavenger hunt, encouraging teamwork and problem-solving as they identified local landmarks from a series of clues.

After lunch at the Apex, pupils took part in what was probably the highlight of the day: a hands-on hospitality session exploring the wide range of careers and roles within the hotel industry (see photos above )

The young people conducted themselves exceptionally well throughout the day and were excellent ambassadors for both the Green Room and Harris Academy.

Mr Perry was the judge and he found it extremely difficult to pick a winner as they were all excellent.

Held in Blair Atholl, the Jamborette involved spending 11 nights under canvas and living as part of an international community with Scouts from 15 different countries. This was a fantastic achievement and a unique opportunity to develop new skills, make lifelong friendships, and experience different cultures. Well done, Heather!

The scholarship recognises Cameron's exceptional talent, dedication, and achievements in Musical Theatre. Having successfully completed Level 4, Cameron will now progress to Level 5, the final year of the Juniors Musical Theatre programme at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

This is a fantastic achievement and a testament to Cameron's hard work and commitment. Well done, Cameron!

Noah achieved an impressive haul of two gold medals and two bronze medals, while Jake secured four silver medals. These outstanding results reflect their hard work, determination, and skill. Well done, boys!

The health checks are scheduled to take place on Thursday 10^th September, Thursday 17^th September, Thursday 24^th September, and Thursday 1^st October.

Round 6 took place at the PF International Circuit on Sunday 30 August 2026. After a challenging qualifying session, Drew showed great determination and skill, fighting his way through the field from 7th place on the grid to take an impressive victory in the Group B Final.

As a result, Drew was promoted to the A Final, starting in 21st position. Once again, he produced an outstanding drive, climbing through the field and reaching as high as 8th place before eventually finishing 10th. His performance also earned him the Best Rookie trophy in the Cadet Lightweight category.

This was Drew's first race win in the championship, making it an even more memorable achievement. To come away with two trophies in one day is a testament to his hard work, talent, and perseverance.

Congratulations to Melissa Irving (2Kb) on winning her class poster competition. Pupils were tasked with creating a poster focused on staying safe online, and Melissa produced a colourful and informative design highlighting the importance of keeping passwords secure.

The aim of these sessions is to give learners a better understanding of university life and study, while also providing an insight into a subject area in which they have a particular interest.

The Masterclasses will last for two hours and will run from 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm on Wednesday afternoons. Please note that the final Law and Life Sciences Masterclasses will take place on a Thursday afternoon. Masterclasses are dure to start on the 30th September.

The sessions will be interactive and will provide learners with valuable experiences and examples that can be used to strengthen future UCAS applications.

Are you interested in Art, Design or Architecture and thinking about studying a creative subject at university? The Access to Creative Education in Scotland (ACES) programme at the University of Dundee could be for you.

ACES is a widening participation initiative for pupils in S4 to S6 across Dundee, Angus, Perth & Kinross and Fife. The programme aims to support young people who are considering progression to higher education in creative subjects by providing expert guidance and hands-on experiences.

What does ACES offer?

Participants will have the opportunity to:

• Develop and strengthen their creative portfolios through specialist workshops and one-to-one support.

• Take part in practical activities, including drawing, design, and model-making workshops at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design (DJCAD).

• Receive advice on university applications, personal statements, and creative degree courses.

• Attend campus visits and explore what it is like to study a creative subject at university.

This free online session gives students and parents an opportunity to experience our Become a Pilot Academy, explore the pathway to professional flight training and ask questions about pursuing a career on the flight deck.

Students will experience some of the aviation Maths, Physics, problem-solving and pilot skills taught during the Academy, while parents can learn more about training pathways, costs and preparing for competitive airline-sponsored/funded training opportunities.

On the 14th of September 2026 Ryan competed in a British Indoor Karting Championship locals race.

On the run up to BIKC Ryan set his 3 fastest times along with 8 others in his category. Ryan qualified as the fastest cadet.

On the night of BIKC locals, Ryan had a 15 minute qualifying race. After what felt like the longest 15 minutes, Ryan qualified in first place.

Then came the race, Ryan did so well to hold first place for most of the race and with just 3 minutes to go, Ryan was unfortunately hit out of the way and dropped down to second place. He did amazingly to hold onto second place and finish the race with a 2nd place trophy which means he has made it through to regionals and will be travelling through to Stockton to compete in his regionals race.

Well done Ryan we are all so proud of you!
